Accommodation Grant

Dear participants,

Accommodation grants are now available for the low income countries for 10 single rooms sponsored by Bilgili Holding and Radisson Hotel. To receive the grant, please send us your name, affiliation, country, and an explanatory paragraph on your reasons for applying to his grant. Please be aware that your e-mail should not exceed 250 words and be sent not later than July 8th by e-mail to the following address .

Dear All,

The deadline for the regular registration period is coming to the end (June26th). We strongly urge you to register before then. For security reasons,no one will be allowed to enter the University premises without their badge.
If you are not registered during the regular period, you would be asked to register on-site (and pay the on-site fees). Until the end of the regularregistration period, we will reimburse half the amount of the registration fee if there will be cancellations.

Also note the hotel rooms reserved for the conference participants arefilling up (especially, the following Crowne Plaza Old City, Royal, GrandHalic, The Peak, Venera, Oran, Grand Ons, Hamidiye, and Klas).  This maymean that you will be paying more for the comparable places. We urge you to make your reservations soon.

It’s All Systems Go!
IAMCR on target for
Istanbul Conference 2011, July 13-17!

With just under two months to go, planning is now in high gear for another exceptional IAMCR conference, to be held in Istanbul, Turkey, July 13-17, under the theme Cities, Creativity, Connectivity.

The conference will be attended by close to 1000 registered academics and researchers, participating in some 340 concurrent panel sessions and 24 poster sessions.

While the majority of attendees will be established scholars from Europe and North America, Istanbul will also see participation from a strong contingent of experienced scholars from the developing countries and a large number of emerging scholars, young researchers and students from all continents.Read More

UNICEF Student Grants for Registration

UNICEF Turkey offers registration grants in the amount of 150 Euros to five MA/PhD students with Turkish citizenship and an abstract already accepted for presentation at the conference. MA/PhD students studying in or out of Turkey are eligible. If the successful applicant has already paid the registration fee, reimbursement of a maximum 150 Euros will be provided. Applicants should send the following documents:

CV
Abstract sent to IAMCR 2011 Istanbul
Copy of the e-mail stating the acceptance of the abstract
Proof of enrollment as MA/PhD student from their respective institutions
A copy of the Turkish identity card

EXECUTIVE BOARD VISITS THE KADIR HAS UNIVERSITY

The President of the IAMCR Annabelle Sreberny and General Secretary Hopeton Dunn visited the Kadir Has University between 20-22 January to meet the Local Organizing Committee and visit the facilities for this years’ IAMCR conference. The site-visit started at Kadir Has University, where Communication Faculty is located and Conference will take place.

In addition to meetings with the coordinators of the local organizing team, Annabelle Sreberny and Hopeton Dunn were also received by the Rector of Kadir Has University Professor Mustafa Aydın. Both parties agreed that it was a productive meeting and were satisfied with the current state of the progress.More Photos
