Kadir Has University (KHU) was founded in 1997, in Istanbul, and is dedicated to becoming a leader in educational and cultural fields in Turkey, as well as establishing itself as an international center for research and scientific development. The university has two campuses: The Cibali Campus and The Selimpaşa Campus.
Kadir Has University has seven faculties: Engineering (1999), Sciences and Humanities (1999), Economics and Administrative Sciences (1999), Communication (2003), Law (2003) and Fine Arts (2004). It has 241 full faculty members, 4863 currently enrolled students and already 5543 alumni. In the campus, there are 43 classrooms, two cinemas, three conference rooms and 8 smart rooms. In addition several vocational schools in the campus are dedicated to becoming a pioneer in various educational and cultural fields in Turkey and in the world. Although it is a young institution in comparison to many other universities, Kadir Has University has become one of the fastest growing universities in Turkey and certainly has achieved a prominent role in the academic scenario, both in Turkey and abroad.
The Cibali Campus of Kadir Has University won the 2003 Europe Nostra Award, the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage as the best-preserved historical building. Cibali Campus combines architectonical elements from Byzantium, the Ottoman Empire and Modern Turkey. The oldest part, historically related to Byzantium and the Ottomans, has been turned into the Rezan Has Museum.
